Moby 'The Day' Official video featuring Heather Graham

Official video for the first single to be taken from Moby's forthcoming album (and photo book) 'Destroyed'. The video features Heather Graham alongside Moby and was directed by Evan Bernard and eyeball. More info on 'The Day' and 'Destroyed' here: http://moby.com Buy 'The Day' on iTunes: http://itunes.com/moby Video Director: Evan Bernard and eyeball: http://www.eyeballnyc.com Video Producer: Kerri Kleiner Production Company: Hello And Company Indirectly inspired by David Bowie and Brian Eno's production circa Low and Heroes (which moby believes is now part of his DNA), the song is one of the few tracks from Destroyed that moby himself sang on. "'The Day' was written in a hotel room in Spain at dawn when I hadn't slept," recounts moby. "I wrote it on an acoustic guitar and recorded it on my phone, brought it home and re-recorded it with the old broken-down electronics I have in my studio." A deeply personal song about late night desperation and dark-night-of-the-soul disquietude, the video for "The Day" (directed by Evan Bernard) features Moby's friend and actress Heather Graham in the role of a nurse/guardian angel "who gets to slaughter demons," explains moby. "I had this simple idea of Heather as an angel in a hospital. Evan expanded upon it and made it a lot more interesting, a lot more compelling."  The basic plot of the video, according to Heather, is "a woman is lying in a hospital bed and I am the nurse and I give her some oxygen. Then it cuts to me as the angel flying, and then you see this scary demon." The director elaborates: "She (the angel) is the defender of righteousness. She represents good, and she's defeating evil." Climaxing in a metaphysical battle between demon and angel, the video is filled with surreal imagery in an eerie clinical setting.

    Duration: 0:10 - FileType: mp3 - Bitrate: 192 Kbps

"This Land is Your Land." Harmonica by Paul Hall of paulhallart.

By Woodrow Wilson Guthrie. Woody used an ancient lilt, preserved in public domain folk hymns. Also shown: Across the USA in a Ryder truck rented from Budget; 2003, from New Hampshire to California. The photos were by Jen Hall, since I was doing the driving with one bad leg at the time, going through New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and then California. Now! This video is 3-D capable. You can watch in 3-D, a whole new experience. Just click the "change quality" feature at the bottom of the video frame (the "gear" icon), and then click the 3D icon when it appears to get the setting that matches your glasses. No glasses? No problem. Click on the "no glasses" link and then look at the 2 images in the video cross-eyed until a 3rd appears in the center and line up the white dot at the top till it becomes a single dot. Happy viewing! Woody sez (parts of 3 quotes that go together): "This is YOUR world...and if it knocks you for a dozen loops... don't let nothin' get you plumb down." Woody was tired of hypocrisy 5 miles wide and 2 inches deep. He would write songs on any scrap of paper he could get ahold of, easily five or ten or more a day. I've done that, too. Sometimes to be able to perform something he wrote on the spot, he borrowed" the music from old hymns or public domain folk melodies as he did with other songs like "I Ain't Got No Home" from This World is not My Home" and "Union Maid" from "Pretty Little Black Bird". But, heck, people; those songs were "borrowed", too! Don't you get it? You stupid, opinionated blogging idiots. They were borrowed and borrowed and borrowed for thousands of years. That's why so many bluegrass lilts sound as if from bag pipes of medieval times. That's the trouble with modern music. Each genre is the variations on the same "winner" melody. Just varied enough to squeak past the copyright protections. So unwittingly, people are dying of boredom! Give the man some credit. He was a creative genius much like the ancient Greek poets. It's like saying Henry the eighth wrote Greensleeves. Oh yeah, and where are the other couple of hundred songs he wrote? Anybody THAT good would have come up with something else. Like David. He was a shepherd on a hill with a homemade harp. Some of these melodies may have been borrowed from him! Classical composers used to do that all the time; take trips to the country to borrow stuff from ancient, handed-down melodies as well as new creations of the common folk. That's how it works. It's a TEAM effort. Probably the first melodies were "borrowed" from the birds! Give me a break. I used "Greensleves" for my song "Anger" and "House of the Rising Sun" for The Ballad of the Moby Dick". Sometimes you don't have time to cultivate a melody and remember it, so you borrow from the traditional, public domain. Of course, my songs were variations on those melodic themes, unique in themselves. So here's a harmonica improv on Woody's "This Land... I first heard this in the 60's when a local television station played it every night when it signed off the air (which they used to do in the old days). And here's a message from Woody from the other world: He showed me in a dream he likes songs "with the eagle in them..." Revelation of mystery. Finding out what's really going on. Getting past illusions of ownership. They can't get him this time. He's over there now in that big union in the sky. This Land Is Your Land Words and Music by Woody Guthrie This land is your land This land is my land From California to the New York island; From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters This land was made for you and Me. As I was walking that ribbon of highway, I saw above me that endless skyway: I saw below me that golden valley: This land was made for you and me. I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts; And all around me a voice was sounding: This land was made for you and me. When the sun came shining, and I was strolling, And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling, As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting: This land was made for you and me. As I went walking I saw a sign there And on the sign it said "No Trespassing." But on the other side it didn't say nothing, That side was made for you and me. In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people, By the relief office I seen my people; As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking Is this land made for you and me? Nobody living can ever stop me, As I go walking that freedom highway; Nobody living can ever make me turn back This land was made for you and me.

Jakob Dylan - Nothing But the Whole Wide World NPR Tiny Desk Concert

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=125475688 April 2, 2010 It's been about 20 years since Jakob Dylan first began making music at Canter's Deli in Los Angeles. Back then he was heading up his band The Wallflowers. In 1996, The Wallflowers put out Bringing Down The Horse, a record they made with musician and producer T-Bone Burnett. That record proved to be a success, both musically and financially. Now 14 years later, Dylan has reunited with Burnett to create some of the best songs of his life, on his latest record, Women and Country — his second album under his own name. His touring band includes those who helped him make that record, including Neko Case and Kelly Hogan. Fans of All Songs Considered have followed Case as a singer in The New Pornographers and as a mighty solo artist in her own right. Hogan, another terrific songwriter and singer, has been making records since the early '90s. The two sang backing vocals with Jakob Dylan when he stopped by for a Tiny Desk Concert. Dylan's entourage also included Paul Rigby, a guitarist fans of Neko Case might know from his contributions to her music. His parlor-sized steel-stringed guitar sounded beautiful played quietly through his amp, even in these cozy confines. There have been a handful of Tiny Desk Concerts where NPR employees have overflowed our modest office space, stepping away from looming deadlines to hear some music. Jakob Dylan and his companions joined the ranks of Moby and Tom Jones by performing a mesmerizing, stripped-down set and managed to serenade us away from the daily unemployment figures and politics, even for just a few wonderful minutes.

James Bond Boat Chase- Live and Let Die Full HQ ft Roger Moore: James Bond 007 Theme Remix- Moby

James Bond Theme Remix Video- Watch best James Bond Boat Chase scene (full reedited) from 'Live and Let Die' with James Bond Theme Remix by Moby featuring Roger Moore as James Bond 007.. *No Copyright infringement intended. All rights belong to the respective content holders.. Live and Let Die (1973) is the eighth spy film in the James Bond series to be produced by Eon Productions, and the first to star Roger Moore as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. Produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, it was the third of four Bond films to be directed by Guy Hamilton. Although the producers had wanted Sean Connery to return after his role in the previous Bond film Diamonds Are Forever, he declined, sparking a search for a new actor to play James Bond. Moore was signed for the lead role. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Ian Fleming. In the film, a Harlem drugs lord known as Mr. Big plans to distribute two tons of heroin free to put rival drugs barons out of business. Mr. Big is revealed to be the disguised alter ego of Dr. Kananga, a corrupt Caribbean dictator, who rules San Monique, the fictional island where the heroin poppies are secretly farmed. Bond is investigating the deaths of three British agents, leading him to Kananga, and is soon trapped in a world of gangsters and voodoo as he fights to put a stop to the drugs baron's scheme. Live and Let Die was released during the height of the blaxploitation era, and many blaxploitation archetypes and clichés are depicted in the film, including derogatory racial epithets ("honky"), black gangsters, and pimpmobiles. It departs from the former plots of the James Bond films about megalomaniac super-villains, and instead focuses on drug trafficking, a common theme of blaxploitation films of the period. It is set in African American cultural centres such as Harlem and New Orleans, as well as the Caribbean Islands. It was also the first James Bond film featuring an African American Bond girl to be romantically involved with 007, Rosie Carver, who was played by Gloria Hendry. The film was a box office success and received generally positive reviews from critics. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Live and Let Die", written by Paul and Linda McCartney and performed by their band Wings. The boat chase scene was filmed in the Bayou Des Allemands. Soundtracks- James Bond Theme Remix by Moby James bond Theme Remix by David Arnold

Founded by Legendary DJ Pete Tong MBE and music executives Ben Turner and Danny Whittle amongst others, the International Music Summit has earned a reputation as the "TED of music conferences." IMS Engage consists of six un-moderated conversations pairing leaders from the worlds of finance, technology, music and media to address the growing influence of electronic music. As part of the pairings the first confirmed speakers include songwriter and musician Moby with legendary film director David Lynch (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive), and world-renowned film music composer Hans Zimmer (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, 12 Years a Slave, The Dark Knight Rises, Man Of Steel and Inception) with rising scoring star Junkie XL. Additional IMS Engage pairings will be announced within the next coming weeks. The pairings of Moby and David Lynch, along with Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL, validate IMS Engage's mission to create a dialogue among authorities within the film and music industries. All are leaders in their fields. Electronic musician Moby is considered one of the most important dance music figures of the early 90's, selling over 20 million albums worldwide. Moby will join American film director David Lynch in conversation at IMS Engage. Lynch is known for his surrealist films which include Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway. He has been described as "the most important director of his era" by The Guardian and has been labeled as the "first popular surrealist." Moby and Lynch have a strong history back to Twin Peaks - Moby sampled the music from the film in his defining production 'Go'.
